Dr. Orçun Koray Çelebi has been appointed to the Access Resource Committee (ARC) of the European High Performance Computing Joint Undertaking (EuroHPC JU), serving in the Engineering, Mathematics and Computer Sciences domain. The appointment is for a two-year mandate, renewable once. The ARC is a body of experts in high-performance computing who serve in a […]

A project led by Dr. Masoud Rahbar Niazi under the supervision of Dr. Orçun Koray Çelebi has been selected for funding in the 2025 call of the TÜBİTAK 2236-A Co-Funded Brain Circulation Scheme 3 (CoCirculation3) Programme. The project, “The Role of Mixed-Character Dislocations in Enhancing Plasticity in Magnesium: An Atomistic Investigation”, will be carried out

Our collaborative study on intragranular critical resolved shear stress distributions in polycrystalline titanium, measured with in-situ point-focused high-energy diffraction microscopy, has appeared in Acta Materialia. The work brings together diffraction measurements at the grain scale with atomistic predictions of glide resistance. W. Li, H. Sharma, P. Kenesei, J.-S. Park, S. Ravi, O. K. Celebi, D.

A new paper in the International Journal of Plasticity combines theoretical predictions of cross-slip and easy-glide critical resolved shear stress in titanium with in-situ TEM measurements, closing the loop between atomistic calculation and direct observation of dislocation motion.
